What's happened to cooking and baking classes at The New School? Culinary Center of New York, that's what! Our cooking school in Chelsea has revamped itself as an independent entity from The New School. We offer hundreds of the same great culinary arts classes at The Inn on 23rd. These include hands-on cooking and baking; walking tours; restaurant tours; business seminars; and tasting courses.

At last I've found you! Called the New School(where I have taken cooking courses for years) and was told that they are not offering cooking and baking courses any more. Why don't they tell people to call you?

David and Goliath retold
If you’ve ever taken cooking and baking courses at The New School, you are probably lost. When you call them and ask about these classes (which have run forever) you are told that they are not offering any or that they have been cancelled. What they do not or won’t tell you is that the company that ran their Culinary Arts program, Culinary Center of New York, is now running the same cooking and baking classes under its own name. They were supposed to issue a joint press release about the separation but nothing was done. Was it a deliberate ploy to deny the new venture any publicity? Is The New School trying to drive the Culinary Center out of business by misdirecting people? Are New Yorkers to be denied the cooking and baking classes they love and are used to? Will David be crushed by Goliath? We hope not!
